Dr. Ashish Malhotra, a well-known pediatrician, runs a small hospital in Hyderabad. He is very punctual for his appointments and patients often appreciate his punctuality. Dr Malhotra strongly believes that the key to winning a customer is providing him the best service.
Dr. Malhotra realizes that scheduling was vital to carry out operations smoothly. Therefore, he allocates time for each visit, depending on the services required and sticks to the schedule. He allows thirty minutes for a new patient, fifteen minutes for a baby with a new problem and five to ten minutes for checking the progress of a child. Dr. Malhotra's hospital has three examining rooms for children, one for teenagers and an emergency room. On an average, he attends to 25 to 35 patients between 8 AM and 6 PM in a day. His appointment system is flexible enough to let him see 45-55 patients. His three assistants keep a number of slots open throughout the day for emergencies.
